Homelab Overview

Homelab

What the Goal is.

My Goal with this project is to explore and create my own testing/working environment.

What I needed.

I don't need any of it per say but I have gained a lot of "toys" already. In the breakdown page I go over my whole setup.

What I learned.

  1. NAS technology: I started with 8x6Tb WD Reds in raid 6 using MDADM with cronjobs to scrub and SMART reports. Now I have 15x6Tb WD Reds in a TrueNAS Scale system that has very little manipulation.

  2. Backup Batteries: How to work with CyberPower batteries and their CLI Tool. I have made a script that will shut down one of the IBM SystemX's if the battery on the UPS goes below 50%.

  3. Headless Debain:

  4. Nginx: Making reverse proxy and making subdomains for my services

    1. I have started to learn more about Nginx Proxy Manager because I have had some problems when doing proxies per machine.

  5. Self-Hosted Cloud:

  6. Self-Hosted Bitwarden:

What I struggled with.
